Communication Tent

“Peace requires something far more difficult than revenge or merely turning the other cheek; it requires empathizing with the fears and unmet needs that provide the impetus for people to attack each other. Being aware of these feelings and needs, people lose their desire to attack back because they can see the human ignorance leading to these attacks; instead, their goal becomes providing the empathic connection and education that will enable them to transcend their violence and engage in cooperative relationships.”

Intimacy is the ability to know oneself and connect deeply with others. It’s one of the most enjoyable parts of being human. In this workshop we will learn the basics of Nonviolent Communication, a powerful tool that helps us to stay centered in any situation, move beyond stalemates, forgive others and yourself, hear the yes behind every no, be flexible without being submissive, express anger or disappointment without judgment or blame, and more. With the former president of Earthaven Ecovillage and co-founder of The REAL Center.
For those with some familiarity with Nonviolent Communication. Using NVC Dance Floors and Somatic Experiencing to move from pain to compassion, from the illusion of conflicting needs to finding win/win strategies, from grasping for approval to deep inner peace, and from negativity to the natural joy of life. With the former president of Earthaven Ecovillage and co-founder of The REAL Center.
After our survival instinct, sexual energy is the most powerful force in the human experience. How do we access and guide this energy? With the heart. And what guides our heart? The overall spiritual purpose of our lives. When all three are combined: sex, heart, and spirit, we can live a deeply satisfying life of service to our ultimate vision. Ideas and practices for improving your physical and emotionally-intimate relationships. With the former President of Earthaven Ecovillage and co-founder of The REAL Center.

Who you ARE is more magnificent than any limited idea about who you “should” be.
This is the premise of authentic relating. Through The Art of Circling, we create more fulfilling relationships and a deeper experience of community through finding the shared experiences that connect us all.
When we allow our awareness to follow what is most alive in the moment, we can relate to each other below the surface and it can lead us to deep truths about what it is to be human and how we impact each other.
Circling is a dynamic group process that brings acceptance to what is, and innerstanding of others experience.
Workshop #1, Authentic relating games/ intro to Circling: 90-120 minutes
Through relational sharing and games we will discover how it feels to reveal our personal experience and be witnessed in the vulnerability of being. We will practice getting curious about someone elses world, and tune to the ways in which we impact one another.
